Free NAPLAN practice — no credit card required
Skillo offers free NAPLAN practice with no credit card or payment information of any kind. No free trial that converts to paid, no upsell prompts, no payment wall after a certain number of questions. Everything is free for Australian students.
What’s the catch?
There is no catch. Skillo does not monetise individual students through subscriptions or credit card payments. The business model is built around anonymised, aggregated educational data licensed to publishers — not around charging families. Skillo does not display a credit card form at any point in the student or parent experience. You will not be asked for payment to continue practising, and you will not receive an invoice or a bill.
How does Skillo make money?
Skillo’s planned revenue comes from licensing anonymised, aggregated, non-PII data products to educational publishers and test developers. No student identity, no individual practice record, and no personal information is included in any data product sold. Schools may pay for optional classroom features in the future — such as assignment setting and class-level reporting — but individual students will always practise for free.
Will I be asked for payment later?
No. There is no paywall triggered after a set number of free questions. There is no monthly limit that resets. There is no ‘your free questions for this month are used up’ message. Skillo does not operate a payment collection system for families. You will not encounter a payment prompt while practising on Skillo, and you will not receive a bill.
Is there a premium version that requires payment?
No. There is currently one version of Skillo, and it is free. Skillo is not a freemium product where a free tier exists to frustrate users into upgrading. If the business model changes in the future, this page will be updated and users will receive plain-language notice before any change takes effect. Right now, there is no paid plan, no premium tier, and no upgrade path.

Do I need to enter card details to start?
No. Skillo does not have a payment or credit card form anywhere in the product. You do not enter any financial information to access practice questions.
Is there a free trial that converts to paid?
No. Skillo is not a free trial. There is no trial period, no expiry date on access, and no automatic conversion to a paid subscription. Access is free and stays free.
Why offer free practice without payment?
Skillo was built on the belief that exam preparation resources should be available to every Australian family, not just those who can afford a monthly subscription. Keeping it free is a deliberate design decision, not a temporary marketing strategy.
How is Skillo different from other free practice that eventually asks for money?
Many ‘free’ practice platforms limit questions, add paywalls after a trial, or require a credit card at signup that auto-renews unless cancelled. Skillo has none of these mechanics. There is no credit card form, no question limit, no trial clock, and no automatic billing.
