Why Skillo
Six reasons Australian families choose Skillo
Genuinely free forever
Skillo is privately funded by its founder and is free for every Australian student. There is no premium tier, no subscription, and no credit card required — whether your child practises once or every day. Future commercial features for schools and educational publishers will fund the platform so it stays free for families.
Zero personal information
Skillo does not ask for your child's name, email address, date of birth, or school. Students sign up with a colour, an animal, and a postcode. That is all. Skillo is designed ahead of Australia's Children's Online Privacy Code, expected in December 2026.
Eleven Australian exams
Skillo covers NAPLAN (Years 3, 5, 7, 9), NSW Opportunity Class, NSW Selective High School, VIC Selective Entry, QLD Academies, WA Gifted and Talented, SA Ignite, Edutest, ACER, and AAS scholarship tests. One platform for every major exam your child might sit.
Curriculum-aligned and independently authored
Questions are aligned to the Australian Curriculum v9.0 and to the published formats of each exam. Skillo is not affiliated with ACARA, ACER, or any exam provider — it is an independent study tool, not an official product.
Practice that adapts to your child
Skillo tracks difficulty at the question level. Over time, questions are matched to your child's current ability — not too easy, not discouraging. A free profile unlocks twelve tracking features including domain levels, streak, badges, and a mistake review.
Built in Australia, for Australian students
Skillo was founded in Melbourne by an Australian parent who needed free, privacy-respecting NAPLAN practice and could not find one. The company is registered in Australia (ABN 29 698 498 234). Practice data is stored on Australian servers in the Sydney region.
