📖Reading PassageThe Bowerbird's Treasure
Deep in an Australian forest, a small bird is hard at work. The male satin bowerbird is building something special. It is not a nest for eggs. It is a bower, and he hopes it will help him find a partner. First, the bowerbird gathers twigs. He pushes them into the ground in two neat rows. The rows curve like a little tunnel. Then comes the fun part. He searches everywhere for blue treasures. The bowerbird loves the colour blue. He collects blue feathers, blue flowers, blue berries, and even blue bottle tops that people have dropped. He places each blue object carefully around his bower until it looks just right. When a female visits, the male dances and sings. He shows off his beautiful blue collection. If she likes his work, she will choose him. Scientists who study these clever birds are always amazed. The satin bowerbird is one of nature's finest little artists, and his blue treasures prove it.
