About the exam
Entry test for Year 6 students applying for Year 7 placement across NSW selective high schools. Computer-based since 2025, delivered by Cambridge Assessment on the Janison platform for the NSW Department of Education.
Skillo currently offers focused per-section practice rather than a single timed, multi-section replica of test day. We're upfront about that here so this page is useful without over-promising — it's a good way to build familiarity with question style ahead of a genuine timed mock from another source, or ahead of test day itself.

How to prepare
Until a genuine timed full-length experience is available, the most useful approach is repeated focused practice across each section — Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Skills, and Writing — building speed and accuracy separately before combining them.
Pair untimed Skillo practice with an official NSW Department of Education practice resource if you want a true timed, multi-section rehearsal closer to test day.
