Answer: Range = maximum − minimum = 38°C − 22°C = 16°C.

The ages of players in a junior basketball team are: 12, 13, 12, 14, 13, 12, 15, 13, 14, 12. What is the mode of the ages?
Answer: The age 12 appears 4 times, more than any other age, so the mode is 12.
Question 3 — Hard
Priya records the daily maximum temperatures (°C) in Adelaide over one week: 28, 31, 27, 35, 29, 32, 30. What is the mean temperature for the week, rounded to one decimal place?
Answer: Sum = 28+31+27+35+29+32+30 = 212. Mean = 212 ÷ 7 ≈ 30.3°C.
