A rectangular school oval is 95 metres long and 62 metres wide. The groundskeeper plans to lay a new path that goes all the way around the outside edge of the oval. What is the total length of the path in metres?

Answer: The perimetre = 2 × (95 + 62) = 2 × 157 = 314 metres.
