Answer: One quarter of 1 litre (1000 mL) is 1000 ÷ 4 = 250 mL.

What fraction of the garden bed is planted (shaded)?

D) 3/4

Answer: 2 out of 4 equal sections are shaded. The fraction is 2/4 (which also equals 1/2).

Question 3Hard

What fraction of the sandwich is shaded?

A) 2/2
B) 1/2
C) 0/2
D) 2/1

Answer: 1 out of 2 equal halves is shaded, so the fraction is 1/2.
