Privacy in Plain English

A simple guide to how Skillo keeps your information safe.

🔒What does Skillo know about me?

Not much! We never ask for your real name, email address, or birthday. We only know:

  • Your colour and animal (like "Gold Eagle")
  • Your postcode (like 3126)
  • What year you are in at school
  • How you went on practice questions

We have no idea who you actually are in real life. That is on purpose!

🎭Why do I have a colour-animal name?

Your name (like "Gold Eagle") keeps you safe online.

Even if someone hacked into our system, they could not work out who you are. They would just see "Gold Eagle" — not your real name.

Pretty cool!

🔑How do I log in?

You pick your colour, your animal, type your postcode, and tap your secret image. No passwords to remember!

But keep your Recovery Card safe — it is the only way back in if you forget your details.

🤖Does AI look at my answers?

For practice questions: Yes! AI checks if you got them right.

For essays (coming soon): Your essay gets checked for names and places first. Those get removed before AI reads it.

📍Why do you need my postcode?

We use it to understand how students across Australia are going.

We never share your exact postcode with anyone else. We only share big-picture information like "students in Melbourne".

🗑️Can my stuff get deleted?

Yes! Email [email protected] and we will delete your account.

Also — if you do not use Skillo for 2 years, your account disappears automatically.

📧Got questions?

Ask a parent or teacher to email us: [email protected]

We will reply within 30 days.
